The mission of Backpacks for Homeless Dogs is simple: to provide basic necessities for the pets in the homeless community. These pets are at greater risk of being surrendered and left to live in already burdened shelters around the state of Maine. Separation from their human(s) often causes a dog to become depressed or anxious. The bond between a human and dog is strong regardless of life's circumstances.
